This year my husband and I were fortunate to take a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise onboard the Star Princess.
Cruising was a new experience for the both of us. And since we both like to relax in different ways, I thought that a cruise would be just the ticket for us.
My husband likes to kick back, slow it down and 'chill'. He likes to sit in the sun and read. Oh yes, he likes to nap too. Me- I like to venture out and check out everything there is to see. Meet people and take advantage of the destinations activities. Here on the Star Princess, we both got just what we wanted.
While hubby slept the afternoons away, I was able to shop onboard the ships many boutiques and take advantage of the duty free prices. I also attended several classes and demonstrations.
By the time I came back to the stateroom hubby was awake and it was time to get ready for dinner. We chose the Personal Choice option for dining and found we made the right decision for us, as some times we ate early to take advantage of a show or other times we sat on our balcony watching the sunset and ate at a later time.
We also ate at the Italian restaurant, Portifino. This was truly a dining experience as the meal lasted almost 3 hours. This evening we each chose an entree then the rest of the meal was served to us in courses. I did not count the courses but there were probably 10 or so. We were so full at the end of the evening we could hardly move! But, ah was it worth it!
Our travels took us to Ocho Rios where we went to a Jerk (seasoning) processing facility, The Grand Cayman, we just shopped there and Cozumel where we took a ferry over to Tulum, south of Cancun and saw the Mayan Ruins.

The warm sun and turquoise colored waters always soothes the soul, and this getaway did not let us down.
